How to access your eBook

eBooks purchased through the Combined Academic Publishers website are delivered via VitalSource, a modern, secure eBook platform.

After you’ve made an eBook purchase, a redemption code will be generated which can be used to redeem your eBook on VitalSource.

VitalSource eBooks are fully DRM-protected and can be read on any computer (no download required), tablet, or smartphone device with the VitalSource Bookshelf app.

How do I access my eBook on VitalSource?

Step 1: Log in to your CAP account to find your VitalSource redemption code

After purchasing your eBook, please create a CAP account or log in to an existing account if you already have one.

IMPORTANT: Your account must be created using the same email address that you used to place your order.

Once logged in you will be able to find your eBook redemption code by viewing your order.

Step 2: Create a new VitalSource account or log in to an existing VitalSource account

Step 3: Add your new eBook to your VitalSource account

Once logged in to your VitalSource account, click Redeem and enter the redemption code.

Within your account you can then gain online and offline access to your eBook.

How can I read my eBook on my smartphone or tablet?

Download the VitalSource Bookshelf app on your smartphone or tablet to read your eBook on the go.

Do I need to be connected to the internet to read eBooks on VitalSource Bookshelf?

You can download your eBook on the VitalSource Bookshelf app for offline reading.

In the Bookshelf app, click on the book you want to download while your smartphone or tablet is connected to the internet. Once the book has downloaded, a small checkmark icon will appear in the top-right corner of the title on your library.

What does DRM-protected mean?

Digital Rights Management (DRM) is the software that ensures an eBook is not copied or freely shared around. DRM specifications for each eBook are set by the publishers who own the respective copyrights to the content.

I cannot find my VitalSource redemption code

Can I return an eBook?

eBooks can be returned for a full refund within 7 days of purchase provided less than 20% of the content has been accessed and access codes for accompanying resources have not been used. Returns cannot be accepted where the customer has previously returned the same eBook from a prior purchase.
