CAP Blog – Presses

Thank you for considering submitting to the CAP blog – take a look at some our of recent posts here: https://www.combinedacademic.co.uk/blog/

Day in the Life

For the Day in the Life feature, we’re looking for a short, insightful piece telling us what your average day in publishing looks like.

Our aim has always been to invite professionals from different spheres within the academic book world (booksellers, librarians, academics, authors, students, publishers) with the idea that we all learn from each other and in doing so contribute to a greater understanding of the roles and challenges faced by the different stakeholders within our ecosphere.

Each piece shouldn’t take up too much time and you can do either one or both – whatever you prefer. The word count is a maximum of approx. 1500 words but otherwise you have relative freedom to be creative. If you have a couple of photos – of yourself, or your day, or something representative – which we would have permission to use on the blog, this would also be great! I’d be happy to discuss further if you’re interested in taking part.

Questions – please feel free to answer as many/as few as you like, or adapt any questions as necessary:

Describe the series in 50-100 words

What are the aims of the series? Why/how is it important?

Who is the main audience for the series?

What was the catalyst for the series? Why was it started?

How do you create and maintain a series? How do you select new titles for a series?

What can people learn from the series?

What’s next for the series? Is there anything you would like to add to it?
