Pangs of Love and Other Writings

David Wong Louie (1954 - 2018) is the author of Pangs of Love and the novel The Barbarians Are Coming. His work appeared in The Best American Short Stories, 100 Years of the Best American Short Stories, and The Best American Essays. He taught in the Department of English and the Asian American Studies Center at UCLA. Viet Thanh Nguyen is professor English, American stuides and ethnicity, and comparative literature at the University of Southern California. In 2017 he was awarded a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. King-Kok Cheung is professor of English at UCLA.

Viet Thanh Nguyen is a University Professor, Aerol Arnold Chair of English, and Professor of English, American Studies and Ethnicity, and Comparative Literature at the University of Southern California. He is the author of the short story collection The Refugees (Grove/Atlantic, 2017) and the novel The Sympathizer (Grove/Atlantic, 2015), which won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. He is also the author of Nothing Ever Dies: Vietnam and the Memory of War from Harvard University Press (2016) and Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America (Oxford University Press, 2002).

King-Kok Cheung is Associate Professor of English at UCLA. She received her Ph.D. degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She is also the author of Asian American Literature: An Annotated Bibliography.
